3 years of abuse and counting Rating:5 out of 5 stars I’ve owned this pack for quite a while and it holds up great. I used to work in sporting goods retail and that’s when I noticed it. Very popular. As a contractor I take this thing all over the globe through customs and security. I wear it when I ride my motorcycle in all kinds of weather. Never has a zipper jammed up, no stitches coming undone, and the color (black / green) is still true. One of my favorite features is the felt-lined pocket in the external pouch where I can put my sunglasses and not worry about scratched lenses. I had good packs in the military and this is a sturdy equivalent. Price paid: $65.00 Well worth it.
Not what I ordered Rating:1 out of 5 stars I ordered the curry/charcoal for my son’s birthday. When it came it was black! We contacted customer service and they were supposed to send a new one. They emailed a return receipt, but never sent the new one. We called AGAIN and this time we were AGAIN sent a black backpack! I don’t think I will order anything but books from amazon again!!!
Great small pack for day hikes. Rating:4 out of 5 stars So long as you bear in mind that this is just a daypack, it’s great. It’s about the size of the average backpack you see around town. The back is vented making it more comfortable on hot days and it has a place to put a bladder from your Camelback. It seems pretty well made, as I’ve experienced with other Kelty products. (I have an extra large duffel and a 3 man, 3 season tent of theirs.)
I’ve only worn it on one hiking trip so far, up to Chasm Lake on Long’s Peak in Colorado. I carried food and emergency gear for three along with a water purifier and found it comfortable.
I found it on sale for less than forty dollars, which probably helps greatly in my appreciation of it. At seventy, I think any daypack would be way over priced.
